The native birds and freshwater fish are displayed in a light, bright, most ingenious and surreal environment. Taxidermist Ross Brownson has handcrafted all these birds, fish, dolphins and seals in a totally unique manner using resin to depict incredible real life qualities.
Ross and Janet purchased the former Post Office in April 2003 and spent many hours restoring the building inside and out for the purpose of setting up the exhibition centre to display Ross’s taxidermy. Ross has been doing taxidermy professionally since 1992 and during this time has built up a library of some weird and wonderful species of New Zealand fish and birds.
