By arrangement we will met you at Havelock (minimum 4 passengers) or Te Mahia, which is only 45 minutes from Havelock or 50 minutes from Picton by road - providing transport for Raetihi Lodge, St Omer House and other destinations. Cruise with Pete for a personlised tour of Kenepuru Sound. He spent 25 years visiting and working in the Sounds before moving here permanently in 1988. Early 1970‘s helped set up one of earlier mussel farms, then after moving here spent 10 years working on mussel barges doing seeding, maintenance, harvesting and as skipper. I‘m 4th generation born Sounds resident, my parents built Hopewell Guest House (now Hopewell Backpackers Lodge) and with my passion for history, flora and fauna, and wildlife, and Pete‘s work experience, you will get to see and hear about the Kenepuru from personal experience and knowledge.
